There’s something for everyone at Chicwish! From feisty minis to colorful maxis to tailored capris. 🌸☀️
Is it yellow? Is it orange? Yeorange? Is it the same color as the Black-eyed Susan patch I’m standing in front of? Whatever the shade, one thing is for sure, it’s just gorgeous! Made from a very comfortable stretch cotton, this Antonio Melani summer dress is flying off the racks at Dillards! Paired up with a neutral shoe a with little flair like these Steve Madden ankle wrap sandals, you’re all set to make a grand entrance! I’m wearing my Ms. Woman Texas United States sash in this image as I am preparing for the United States Pageant in Orlando this summer! So excited! 🌼🌼🌼
It’s heating up fast and what’s better than a beautiful summer dress in a brilliant hue to offset your sun-kissed skin?? Trina Turk’s spring collection is exploding with brilliance! I’m wearing the Lambada dress out for dinner in this image. The sleeves on this are cold-shouldered but they also look really streamlined when worn hanging as I am wearing them. The dress itself makes such a statement that it calls for simple accessories and hair. The shoes here vanish thus allowing eyes to shift focus to you. Trina Turk’s entire spring collection is loaded with vibrant shades sure to create wonderful summer memories of hot weather, tanned skin and great fashion!
Spring break at the Woodlands Resort was amazing! What a great place for people with kids and vacationing couples alike! They’ve revamped the poolside menu and the food is outstanding! I absolutely loved the Mediterranean flair of the tomato, olive and mozzarella salad. It’s served in a bowl with spherical pieces of cheese mixed in with exotic imported olives, tomato chunks and mixed greens. I ate this every day, it was that good.
They’ve even added an ice cream stand for the kiddoes. The little ones can also enjoy movies in the pool each night and a live DJ on the weekend. There are hula hoop contests, and other games offered as well. The water slide with a waterfall is the show-stopping highlight for children and had a non-stop pattering of little feet racing to get in line the entire week.
There are several eateries right on the grounds. Robards, a top of the line steak house, is always packed. The Tavern, part of the original Woodlands Country Club, is more casual and has a delicious menu. My favorite was custom burger night. Each patron fills out a form a get a burger to your design. Also wonderful was the breakfast buffet.
On this visit, I took full advantage of the workout room as I am preparing for the Mrs. Texas United States Pageant, and getting my rear in gear for the swimsuit competition. There are several elliptical machines and treadmills. It’s a small facility, but has enough to hit all muscle groups. It’s very clean and well attended to.
The rooms at the resort are spacious and luxurious, equipped with cotton pique monogrammed robes, cloud comfy beds and beautiful views from every room. I especially love the poolside rooms which allow for easy running back and forth if you’ve forgotten something. The hotel also has four huge suites.
Also new are the ultra chic cabanas that we wasted no time taking full advantage of. Equipped with a refrigerator, fruits, chilled water and tanning products, its the way to go. You feel like you’re at a luxurious place far away. At 100.00 per day, it’s a great deal so be sure to call early to book.
The only downside to the resort were the yard guys with their blaring leaf-blowers that start outside the rooms at 7 am. We talked to the desk and hopefully they’ll start the work on the gorgeous pool grounds later in the morning. Also, there were a couple housekeepers who were less than friendly, including one who saw me coming behind her and dropped the door on my face. Not all were surly, however, there were many who were kind and helpful.
Overall, this staycation was as close to a world class experience as you can get minutes from home. The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center is the hidden crown jewel of Southeast Texas and truly has something to offer for adults and kids alike.
